Terms of Use
Effective 1 January 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of samhitalegal.com and any services we provide (together, the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Nature of the service
Samhita Legal is a technology platform that helps clients discover and connect with independent advocates. Advocates on the Platform are not our employees. We do not practise law and nothing on the Platform is legal advice. Any advice you receive is from the advocate you engage.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of your information, safeguarding your credentials and all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
3. Bookings & payments
Consultation prices are quoted in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Payments are processed by third-party gateways. Refunds are governed by our refund policy summarised in the FAQ.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or to solicit unlawful acts.
- Do not upload malware, run automated scrapers or probe our security.
- Do not impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation.
- Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication or access controls.
5. Lawyer conduct
Advocates on the Platform must comply with the Bar Council of India rules, the Advocates Act 1961 and all applicable professional standards. Solicitation prohibited by the BCI Rules is strictly forbidden.
6. Intellectual property
All content on the Platform (excluding user-submitted content) is owned by or licensed to Samhita Legal and is protected under Indian and international intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, distribute or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Samhita Legal is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Platform. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid to us in the six months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or if your continued use presents a risk to the Platform or other users. You may close your account at any time from your dashboard.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes, subject to any statutory rights to approach a consumer forum in your place of residence.
